Well I can do it with my size 12s. Has your switch been moved?

Are the early/later dip switches in different locations?

I've just fitted a Mini one - yesterday! It's great! Took me (electrical novice) 2 hours to fit.

Only problem is it doesn't fit under the standard cowling:

And you have to put a separate warning light in, as it's not on the stalk. You can wire up the 'redundant' warning light on the speedo though (I didn't as I'd used it for something else!)

The horn also relocates to the end of the stalk - you now have to push it in (towards centre of steering wheel) like some earlier minors.

I can use the foot dipper just fine - with my size 14s - even in my railway toe-tectors.... What's the problem?? And yes - the old wives tale is true - I also have large hands.......

Well I've not had any complaints - about the dip switch... of course... - but the original indicator switch was playing up, so when it came to replace it, I figured I'd go for the upgrade.

The only problem I did have with the floor mounted dip switch was that I would always be in the middle of changing gear when a car came the other way and I'd have to dip!

Being able to 'flash' other motorists is a benefit too - I now await being told off for blinding people...

 whilst I on the other hand "disappear under the dash" if I try to reach the dip - too short!

Is the mini switch self cancelling?

I imagine you would need to use a Mini steering column with it - to make it do so. Is it really such a hassle to just cancel the indicator by hand? Even in my modern - I cancel the indicators by hand long before any 'automatic' system will do so.... :-?

My 59 MGA had the little dash-mounted indicator lever. AAs I recall it was self-cancelling. Am I right, and if so, how did it work.
Oh, and I have size 10 1/2 feet, which means I've got a big...pair of shoes.

My two cars, a 59 and 60 both have the lug on the column and cancel the signals.

Yes I am, but if you come along to a birmingham branch meeting, I can show you there ;) http://www.birmingham.mmoc.org.uk/meetings

Yes, just make sure it lines up with the lug on the column.
