Hetty - progress report

Post by CherryPeeks »

Well Hetty's in hospital, and the prognosis is good!

A new brake master cylinder and couple of spots of welding (around £200 worth) and she'll be MOT'd! Wood and the rest of the chassis is all good, and her engine is sweet as can be.

Can't wait to get the bodywork sorted - I'll probably need a pattern steel rear offside wing to replace the fibreglass one that's there....does anyone recommend a supplier, or have any tips?

Thank you :)

Hi,
I've always found Bull Motif to be good (links below). However I suspect all the main suppliers will stock panels from the same sources, so shop around for price. Also if you're near one you can save on the postage. :P
I also spotted a couple on eBay (links also below), though you may want to enquire with the seller for an detailed description of condition, if you are happy to repair them they may be a cheaper alternative though.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Neither the "genuine" not the pattern wings are a perfect fit, but I would always recommend going for "genuine". The extra cost is worth it to get a slightly thicker steel. All of the suppliers are much of a muchness.
