If the car is solid and good, you have hit gold! alot of bodged examples out there. In my opion, paint it the colour you want, enjoy it, keep it and use it! also looking at the photo, is the passenger rear wing fibrelass, looks cracked at the rear edge, if so this would be easier to replace then repair to be honest as once they crack they never seem to be the same even when repaired and briged and strengthen from behind. Make sure once its been painted to waxoyl, dinitrol the underside and box sections, plus i would check under the kick plates, the panels on the sills under the doors.... these bolt on and off and have a good look in there when assessing its true condition

Yes that wing is fibreglass - I was thinking of replacing it with a pattern steel one.....

Nice find. As for the colour, its your car and up to you what colour you paint it. There are plenty of Minors around in original colours/trim anyway. If the car is solid I would keep it and make it into the car you want.

Limeflower was a hideous colour, it looked vile on MGs too! Just my opinion of course.

my traveller is rose taupe and i wanted to change it to maroon b well my ex girlfriend of the time did ,but i kept it the origional col our and im glad i did it looks lovley .at the end of the day its your car to do what you like with and above all enjoy it .

my better half was dead against a green moggie ,so what did I buy? a green one (bravest I've been for years !) but now she loves it,It's nice to see all sorts of colours,or rats at the shows.Just imagine what a row after row of old english or almond green moggies would look like

I think Hetty will certainly be individual, even if she is OEW....I have plans to make her stand out from the crowd

When you "do" a Traveller properly, you will usually spend more money than you can realistically get back by selling it on. It's your car for you to do with as you wish, and although limeflower is one of the rarer colours for a Minor, it is not historically significant. My travellers had limeflower interiors. Impossible to replace (I used to work for the company that made the material, and we simply could not run the production line in a small enough quantity to get the colour). Both cars are now biscuit - a non-minor colour, but it works very well with the teal blue paint (despite what others may say, that IS a fantastic colour!). My first sludge grey (rose taupe) traveller soon became maroon. One trafalgar blue became teal blue. In short, you have already bonded with the car, you want OEW, you have OEW. Compared to what other do with the cars, a change of colour is nothing

As some have said, pick the colour that makes you happy. You'll never get agreement on the 'best' colour for your car anymore than you'll get agreement on what's the best colour of the rainbow. If you're unsure, you could get a couple of rattle cans of Limeflower made up and spray out the patches where you sanded and live with it for a few months to see if it grows on you. You should in any case cover up the bare primer in case it allows water to get at the steel.

Lovely to see one of the last Travellers saved for all time and going to a good home. It will have been manufactured at Adderley Park, Birmingham rather than Cowley or Abingdon. I think BMC moved production to Adderley in July 69 where the last ones were made (including Henry - you should never force a sex change on a Minor, it makes them pull to the left!) until they were phased out around April 71. Very sad as they still had quite a full order book. Rare colour too which I would personally keep but then again you are choosing OEW which is also a nice BMC colour so that would look great as well. Welcome on board!!

There is a very nice Limeflower Trav sits under the canopy of the Shell station - in Tenerife ! Near Tenerife Pearl - something to go look at while 'others' are looking at the ghastly overpriced pearls......
