Bonnet Lift Handle

Post by SUE482 »

With the difficult task of replacing the bonnet lift handle for a good second hand one and new ones not identical to the original, no enamelled "M", I am left with re-chroming my original. Has anyone successfully removed the M's which I would need to do before re-chroming. Alternatively has anyone got a good one or other useful suggestions.

I've seen them removed before, I remember they are mounted with a spring on the inside but can't remember physically how to remove the enamel bit.

if you use a fine blade you can get underneath them and unhook the spring. have a look at the snaps on davids link.
