'Dynamator'

Has anyone had a look at or tried the 'Dynamator'? Giving an alternator the appearance of a dynamo to keep within the original look.

Have only found them on Ebay so far though.

It's just an alternator in another guise - I'd be certain it is wired up as an alternator, so perhaps not very original.
I also wondered if, since it is based on an alternator, you need a different sized pulley?
It is possible to keep the coil in its original position with alternator - I've just done it! Fingolfin extended the dynamo bracket, I took inspiration from David Miles's thread and used the dynamo bracket and adjuster to mount the coil on the dynamo.

By coincidence I emailed them last Monday about that and they replied saying you bypass the regulator box.

I’m thinking about one but was wondering about the pulley which they don’t seem to list and quality/reliability.

The coil is better moved away from the heat and vibration of the engine anyway - standing upright on the RH inner wing works well......
