Baking Paintwork

Post by martylemoo »

Hi,
I have just finished painting my engine bay, i have a makeshift low temperature oven that i am currently baking the paint in. The temperature is fluctuating between 60oC and 70oC. How long do you think i should keep it in the oven for at that temperature? i was thinking 8 hrs but am i way off the mark? I want to start finishing the paint as soon as i switch the oven off!!
thanks
Martyn

I hope someone on here can answer your question as most paint jobs done by most listers are done using cellulose paints without an oven as most diy-ers dont have oven and air fed mask facilities.
Cheers
