Wirering Heater Motor
Taken out the heater and it's getting a good clean before it is painted. The green wire to the switch was cut,there is a green wire at the back of the wiper switch (which has also been cut) is this the power supply to the heater?
Is the heater power supply from the wiper switch,if so I will renew and connect.

Thanks Mike,thought I would check as the wire was cut.
Had it going on the bench this afternoon so start putting it back together and rewire.

The wires on the wiper switch should be black/green and black. The black/green is connected to the wiper motor and the switch 'earths' the wiper motor through the black wire. There is no ignition 'green' feed wire to the wiper switch as such - unless someone has been making changes?

Makes sense as it does not work on the green wire that was cut,as Mike said any green wire will do so have found a live supply and will use that.

The green wires are from the fuse box and I will find it as after the work I've done on the heater it would be silly not to.
So thank you for confirming I'am doing it the right way. Took off the heater control valve yesterday (what a state that was in) and ordered a new one from Leadbetters which I will collect on Thursday. May fit a new water pump if it will make a difference,what do think?

No reason to worry about the water pump if it's not leaking...... If you want a really good heater - you should fit an 88 degree thermostat.

The car does not go out in the wet or cold but could do with the heater working to some degree.
The only part I have not renewed after this week will be the pump and I read that the blades of the pump may rust over time and not pushing the water around the system.

Do you know how old the pump is? They rarely 'break', but the seals do go, and then you can be stranded - for the cost of a new one and with the system already drained, I would definitely replace the pump, pump gasket and by-pass hose. Especially change the by-pass hose, unless done very recently - use a solid hose (a short length of new 1/2" heater hose is perfect, but not the concertina type hose) and new clips. Also an 88°C thermostat as suggested above.

All hoses are brand new and never used.
Like you I think a new water pump as it cost so little.

I'm not convinced that the 'new' pumps these days are anywhere near as well made as the originals......
