Gasket between window frame and door

Is there one or not? It would look wrong without one, show the holes for the window runners and probably rattle like Sir Simon doesn't. Yet I don't recall there being gaskets for this area when I bought the project in bits. Also, there isn't such a gasket listed on Bull Motif's excellent website.

Should I make gaskets from my sheet of rubber or alternatively just fit the window frames so the quarterlight frames sit directly on the doors? Surely metal to metal contact can't be right?

Hi,
I think he means the weather strip that fits either side of the door (wind up) window glass. It's been a while since I fitted mine but I believe they also require clips and a metal strip with holes in to help hold them in place.
The original ones were a felt like material, similar to that which goes into the window channel itself which the window glass slides up and down in (you may need that also?).
However you can buy a rubber outer strip these days, which is fitted in the same way as the original but sits up against the glass and is similar to those used by later cars, which is also much better at keeping the rain out.

They are called Touch Glass seals and are available from ESM at £5.25 each plus VAT.

Thanks - there obviously is one as Trickydicky and Charlie identify. I'l probably have a go at making one from sheet rubber, but will buy a proprietory one if it doesn't look right.

The part Charlie Morris Minor referes to is actually shaped not flat which stops the water getting in under the quarterlight.
