1951 MM tourer almost back to standard

In the 80s I used to have quite a fast minor, but, old age creeping up I converted it back towards standard and am enjoying working on a car you can take to pieces with a decent set of spanners and a screwdriver.[frame][/frame]
The first problem was a cracked origonal cylinder head. One was found( thanks Lee) and the 1935 head and strange pipework came off and it began to look more normal.[frame][/frame][frame][/frame]
A water pump came from club spares(Thanks Bryan) and a fitting of all the bits to check clearance with radiator and fan belt legnths.[frame][/frame]
The strange object on the left was an electric pump I made up in the 70s to provide a bit of heat to combat the northern winters consisting of a Smiths heater motor with a washing machine pump attached via a flexible coupling.[frame][/frame]
Next a new dynamo pulley was turned up and it was trial time!![frame][/frame][frame][/frame]
So far so good, the wife complained it was too hot and the heater had to be turned down a bit, it was2 degrees C. outside. Many thanks to all who helped with bits and pieces.

did you had the original engine with the car, with "matching numbers" or mounted a similar one?

Hello TvdWerf, the origonal engine No was 95555,they must have had something wrong with it because it was changed on 18th june 51 to C49125 then changed again to 31693 on 18 march 1963 and that is the engine that is in it now. I have run it with various A series engines for 17 years starting with a 1098 then a 1275 converting it back a couple of years ago after stripping the engine and rebuilding it. Apart from routine maintenance is as was when I bought it in 1976. It was a gold seal engine by the way, I have just repainted it . Cheers smithskids.

The number 95555 looks like very original, mine is 123046, also '51.
My spare engine is older, he has number CS 81806.
Why the spare has the prefix CS, I do not know.

yes I don't know why or what the engine No prefix C or CS etc stand for. Any body any ideas?

Gave the car its first decent run to-day, 101 miles and no problems. I still can't believe the heat from the heater with the water pump fitted, to think we have been freezing all these years when we went out in cold weather makes me cringe. New brakes all round next job. smithskids.
