engine drain tap passage blocked

950, engine, Tap at rear of engine removed this was blocked with dirt also the passage blocked, I scraped dirt outwith a thin pointed bar and have gone in five inches, still blocked. Any ideas would be welcome. Engine is on the bench, Is it advisable to take out the core plugs at the back and side to get at the area, i need to clear this before rebuild. its like cement i had to use a pointed skewer and a hammer. Thankyou boydogs.

Don't worry about it. When it is back in the car just run some drain cleaner through the engine for half an hour - then drain and refill.
