i jave bought another van with a 1275A+ engine.
but there is no heater valve fitted.
can anyone tell me if the normal heater valve from a 1098 will fit with no problems

Depends on which head is fitted.
Usually the A+ engines have no bypass hose and use a different thermostat housing with a lower take off as opposed to the Moggy heater valve.
To convert it, you need to drill and tap the head to insert a bypass hose tube and drill out the blank at the rear of the head to fit the heater tap.
OR you can just do what I did and have the heater in circulaton all the time by just using an Ital type heater take off (like the Moggy heater valve but it's just a pipe connection to the head) and the standard Moggy bottom radiator hose.

Not without a modification as its at an angle and the later valve will hit the battery tray unless you are going to cut a piece out and even then it can touch the battery if you have a larger battery fitted.so i guess a standard heater valve would fit,
