Respray and change of colour

Just a general question (or two!)

Does anyone have a rough idea what a full respray costs for a Traveller, and how controversial is it to change the colour from the original?

Actually that was a bit lazy of me! Just searched the forum and found that £2k seems to be about right.

Hi there.

My series 2 isnt an original colour, in fact it isnt even a minor colour. The colour is like an air force blue/green.
It is however, a BMC colour, ie a paint colour from the palet of Morris, triumph, Austin etc.

Id suggest you choose a BMC colour, as they all look pretty period, so will suit the minor perfectly.

To be honest, there isnt one Morris Minor colour I actually really like, luckily it was already the lovely colour she is today when I purchased her

I think I know where you are going, and it's a good idea, but remember that if you get a dark colour car, it will be more difficult to cover with Old English White (although Almond Green should be easier to use as a cover), and to look "right" you may have to budget for replacement trim. Around £2K should get a reasonable external respray, but you may want to consider the inside of the doors, the door shuts, dashboard, under bonnet, and even inside rear door panels. Nothing is impossible, and certainly nothing wrong with changing a colour, just be aware of the potential extras that can creep up you. The main thing is to enjoy the car, so go for it
