I saw them at a show once,
there seem to be a few suppliers of electronic regulators;

I quite like the idea of fitting it inside the original case, just if it does die there is no hope of fixing it like an electromechanical one!
I have seen remanufactured lucas regulators fetch high prices so might prove a good solution;

a late moggie back in the middle 70's having an alternator
Probably a Panda car, they had positive earth alternators fitted.

Pages N49 - N53 of the BMC manual shows alternator info.

Panda cars had positive earth 11AC Alternators.
