Ignition Coil

Post by cmec »

Hi I have the old type screw on ignition coil and the bit that screws into the top of the coil to secure the HT lead has disintegrated. Has anyone got a spare, can I purchase one from somewhere or do I have to replace the whole coil with push on types.

You might want to post this in the 'Wanted' section too. Hopefully someone will have just the thing you need.

They are often called "Acorn Nuts", and google turns up plenty of suppliers. Be aware that there are several lengths, and the shorter ones may run out of thread before they grip the brass washer. Short ones are for the few distributor caps that use them.

Worth having a spare so that you have your spare distributor cap already fitted with a full set of HT leads.
