Oil Additives
Hi Can anyone tell me if it is worth while using a product which claims to stop oil leaks. The product is made in the UK.

Re: Oil Additives
Never used one myself so can't say, but I will say that it won't solve the problem, only disguise it for a while and could potentially lead to engine failure by blocking oil ways and the oil pump.
New gaskets I'm afraid are the only answer.

Not really...
They swell rubber seals, and can be considered a short term fix at best imho

Thanks guys.
I will follow your advice and run the old fellow (1968) into my local garage and let them give him the once over. Just passed his MOT too! Then again, I suppose we all start having trouble with fluids with age.
Thanks again

Depends on how much it's leaking and what you are prepared to tolerate. A weep you can live with but it shouldn't be dropping oil all over the show.
