Post by seriesmm_1 »

Can someone guide me in the right direction please,
I'm looking to refurb the rear springs on my '52 series mm & I need to get hold of new brkts & rubbers as shown in the attached photo,I dont want to buy new springs just the brkts, bolts & rubbers.
Also I need 2 off new bump stops as per attached photo, can anyone help.

On my '58 Minor (so not completely like yours, but may be the same) I think the clamps are welded to a leaf, so may be difficult sourcing new clamps. Check on yours first.

Your springs should be 7 leaf x 7/32 thickness not the later 7 leaf x 1/4 thickness as fitted to the Traveller. It may be easier to have a set of clamps made and you may have to use the later bump stops.

Mike the springs are original, what you suggest if nothing appears is what I had in mind, draw the brkts up & mail to a friend of mine to manufacture, with regard to the bump stops what I hope to do is get 2 modern ones remove the rubber & use the brkts bonding the old bump stops onto them the only problem is I only have one rubber stop?

I am in Melb Australia, but I have a new set of the spring-binding rubbers (NOS, and stored in the dark) and can probably find for you a 2nd axle bump-stop too.....The latter would be Used of course: surely you can get those there, or settle for the later type?
