Is there any reason why you have put the spring washers under the bolt heads instead of under the nuts? :-?

David

They should ideally be High Tensile bolts and locknuts also, available from usual suppliers.

David

They are a bit hard to find on the BM site as they are listed as accessories?... they are listed as follows
Part No: FIX150A
Description:
Propshaft Nut & Bolt Kit(4 Bolt & Nuts).

Just a quick picture of my Pickup with a snowscape of the Sussex downs. (A light dusting of snow compared to some parts of the country)

Looks good in old fashioned black and white too.
In that setting you wouldn't know what decade it was taken in either ........
Unfortunately I don't have the effects to age the picture slightly, which would complete a period photo look.

very nice Jagnut, could be any time from 1968 to now. You're right, it needs a slight sepia-tone to age it.

yes, you will need to do that, they do have a tendancy to come undone... i would use some nylock nuts aswell, my propshaft nearly came of my van 10 years ago as these bolts worked free, on investigation on clunking the prop was held on with two bolts hanging on by a couple of threads... the other two had long gone..... they must be really tight and nip them up after a few days use....

At the time David was using a normal nut and bolt, which would normally use a spring washer, In that situation I was just asking why the washer was under the bolt head rather than under the nut. The bolts now fitted use nyloc nuts so no need for a spring washer anywhere, unless you want to I suppose.

love that sepia tone Jagnut, but maybe we are in danger of exagerating the age of our sixties cars here, my family pictures of myself as a kid with my sisters are all in this Kodacolour, with a sixties colour tone that really dates pictures now. Even the black and whites looked different, less vivid but move contrasty than a modern, digital take on black and white. Ahhh, Nostalgia.....[frame]Image[/frame]
