Mini Rocker assembly
Will a rocker assembly from a Mini Mayfair 1275 1993, fit straight onto a standard 1098 head? I have the pressed steel rockers and would like to convert to one of these.[frame]

Re: Mini Rocker assembly
The valves on in a 1098 are not exactly in the same place as the 1275, the spacing is slightly different. If all the rocker faces, where they make contact with the valves, are absolutely like new, no wear at all, at all, then you could fit it, but otherwise I would definitely not do so. The wear from the 1275 will not line up with the 1098 valves and could cause premature guide wear and increased oil consumption.
What advantage are you trying to get?

Re: Mini Rocker assembly
If the rocker faces are worn, they can be refaced, if they are surface hardened, they can be rehardened after refacing.
Talk slow, think fast!

The sinter rockers are not that hard - yes - I had assumed the rockers would be in 'good' condition. They can be stoned smooth i necessary. Best to stick with the pressed steel rockers really!
