What's to know? You get a switch - and put it in a 'secret' place - so only you know where it is !

Ditto here, Any instructions as to purchasing and fitting would be good. I have always relied on taking the rotor arm out but feel the need for more security

Do you have the " secret" dash light switch ? Just found mine , and it would be easy-peasey to use it to kill the ignition circuit...

John

Failing that I've just fitted a battery isolator switch...

I saw another good idea recently. A "Reed Switch" in the line from the ignition switch to the coil. The reed switch is "Off" until a magnet is put near it in the form of one of those fridge magnets. Magnet normally rests on the glovebox lid until needed and is then stuck under the dash where it is needed.

This sort of thing, but maybe a higher amperage?

Sleeper,

I don't mind fitting another switch somewhere discreet but have no idea which circuit / colour wire to fit the switch to, where to cut it etc. Given my knowledge of auto electrics I need a step by step guide.

The white wire is the ignition and fuel pump.

If you have the switch " hidden " beneath the speedo, as I do ,pull out the speedo and remove the wires from the switch( red ) and join them together...this will disable the "blackout" function of the dashboard lights..
Then disconnect the Blue/brown wire from the ignition switch and connect it to the "hidden " switch, from the other side fit a wire to where you removed the blue/brown wire.

If you don't have this switch, any switch can be fitted wherever you want and just interrupt the blue/brown wire going to the ignition switch through it...

Job done
