Re: JUST DUMPED ALL IT'S WATER ALL OVER THE DRIVE :(
I am just about to get a sledge hammer and beat my new bottom hose to let it know how much it has ****** me off by not fitting even after a lovely long soak in very warm water, and lovingly rubbed with lubrication

Cheers Alex

Try boiling water- I had this trouble recently (ending in skinned knuckles etc) with a very old Unipart hose... Boiling water just did it...

What kind of hose is it - that doesn't fit?? Does it not fit at both ends - or just one ??

What 'lubrication' was used? Try a smear of vaseline and prying it on with a screwdriver.
Also, BEFORE you fit the hose, ensure the Jubilee clips are already loosely on the hose. This will save much (more) swearing and cursing!

Now fixed new top, bottom and 92 degree thermostat, haven't tackled the by-pass yet,the heater is quiet a bit warmer, just in time for the cold weather about to cross our way

Cheers Alex

No point touching the by-pass if it isn't leaking, especially after you have already drained the water once.
Re: JUST DUMPED ALL IT'S WATER ALL OVER THE DRIVE NOW FIXED
It gives faster/better heater action -especially in town traffic/engine idling.
