The only time I tried removing the big end caps (out of curiosity on a knackered engine I was considering learning on to rebuild years ago) I found that they were totally immovable once the bolts were off. The sump was also well glued in position and needed totally cleaning up and new gaskets fitted. Would have taken a little longer than 30 mins had I proceeded to finish the job.....

The caps will come loose with a bump with a copper hammer - and the 30 mins was just to LOOK - doesn't include refitting which obviously will depend on the state of gaskets etc.....

Just back from a hard day at the railway - there will be No amber nectar I can assure you...But I am outside two cans of lovely thirst quenching ice cold cider - and wondering if there is any more in my secret store.....
