Maybe the Daimler and Lanchester Owners club can help you. It looks to me like a Daimler DB18, built from the 1940's to early 1950's.

It may be a factory body, or one by a specialist coachbuilder, which could well affect its value upwards. The registration is not original and looks to be a reissue after a cherished transfer in the past, or is a transferable or non transferable number, allocated because previous documents were previously not registered on DVLA when they were contacted.

Difficult to suggest what to bid from one photo, but Daimlers do not fetch especially high figures unless in drophead form, and can be a costly renovation. Saying that, on what I see, I personally would buy it like a shot, especially if it has a pre-select gearbox, as I owned one in my younger days, and I really enjoyed driving it. If it is not rotten and under £1000, grab it. It looks worth bidding to £2K if it runs, drives and stops and the body is reasonable. £2.5/3K if it is in top running order with an MOT, no knocks or smoke, and gears work as they should. A fully restored one was privately advertised in October for £7500 ono with tax and MOT.
My perception. Hope it helps!

Alexander, I have found out a little more about this Daimler.

Reg number is MSL 405. It is a December 1950 Daimler DB18 Consort with chassis number D55810, and 2522cc engine number 42112. It is shown on the DVLA web enquiry site.
It was on the auction circuit in Feb 2000 when it sold at auction for £1800. Reported as an ex-Lord Mahmood car, and previously owned by a London doctor. It appeared at auction again in June 2000 in Buxton with a guide value of £1800-2200, and shown then as a 'condition 3' car.

Good luck with your bidding!
