Hi Folks,
Can anyone tell me if the Lucas L471 rear lamp units can be fitted as a direct replacement for the L549 units currently fitted to my 1953 Series Two?

Re: Rear Lamp Exchange?
If you can find the complete light assemblies including bases then the light units can be changed, although you may have to re drill the locating holes in the rear wings and remove the marks in the paintwork. The L471 lenses are available in glass and plastic. In my opinion the glass lenses look far better, especially when the plastic lenses fade

The original minor 471 lamp has this type of gasket

that requires a large hole to be drilled in the wing as the lamp holder pretty much sits inside the wing. There were other types available that used the same lens, so will depend what you have got.
Just borrowed this image that shows what I mean[frame]
