Engine paint

Post by cmec »

As I have the engine out and cleaned I would like to repaint it, I understand the main block colour is BMC Green and the fan ect. is BMC yellow, does it have to be high temp paint or will standard cellulose do?

I'm pretty certain you can buy the correct paint from most of the usual parts suppliers.

It MUST be high temp paint otherwise it will flake off and leave a right mess.

Celly works fine - but it MUST go on a perfectly clean / grease free surface..

You can get 'BMC engine green' from the usual suppliers. Mini and MG specialists should also stock it, if there's one closer to you.

As for the fan, that doesn't need to be high temp paint. I find 'Fiat Broom Yellow' from halfords does the trick ;)
