1941 packard clipper

There is a theory that Issigonis styling cues were taken from the 1941 packard clipper,it does look like a stretched Mog.[frame]Image[/frame]

Old Packards are beautiful cars, powerful, solidly built and luxurious. I'd have one over a Rolls any day. The Minor's styling was indeed American influenced, for example the domed bonnet, faired-in front wings and jukebox dashboard which were all departures from traditional British car design.

The clipper looks like a stretched Peugeot of that era

Looks to have also influenced the styling of the Morris Oxford MO and the Rolls Royce Silver Cloud.

Packard was also heavily copied by the Soviets in the ZIM ZIS and ZIL cars of that era.
