Re: head gasket leak
If you can't use another vehicle probably the best option, don't go to a 'fly by night' company. The other option of course, is to take a gamble on a second hand unit but that maybe more suited to an old banger rather than a car with good bodywork etc.

Re: head gasket leak
Your call but seems tragic not to put it in, why buy one when you already have one waiting, and save a few hundred quid! However good luck whatever way you go

Re: head gasket leak
I know I tend to work pretty slow but I'm sure many others could swap the engines over in a day.
Re: head gasket leak
Well I would be willing to help out. You're a fair distance though, and have you got cover?

Re: head gasket leak
hi les
with a new plug th ngine still runs ok
got a slight knocking but thats allways been there
low compressions
and have noticed a bit of oil water mix in the oil filler cap
so i woul think a major overhaul
new rings
crankshaft
50 50 choice
