heres a picture of the horn on my 1954, very surface rusty. You can see the engine tower and the tie plate clearly enough.[frame]Image[/frame]

A picture of my car, also the same place.
When did they started with the 4 round holes in the bottom?
My '51 MM does not have them...[frame]Image[/frame]

1952 when they fitted the curved crossmember.
Someone is going to say that they have the holes and a straight crossmember

As you see on the picture, my MM has the "nose" a little bit turned, so I have to replace the parts.
When I use the "new" bottom, I should have the holes and a straight crossmember ;)

Are the replacement parts without the holes still on the market?[frame]Image[/frame]

As you see, rust is not the reason to replace...

Have just taken the horn off my car & as can be seen in the photos I have a massive brkt mounting it,Stevey/Tudwerf does yours have a single fixing as there is only 1 hole in the tie plate on the car yet the horn has 2 smaller fixings?[frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame]

My horn is not the original one, but it have a special bracket for the horn.
The original MM horn is somewhere in an old box with parts. not to find on an easy way this time[frame]Image[/frame]

My floor part has only one hole, the horn bracket looks like an after market.[frame]Image[/frame]

My horn looks like the same as yours, mine is mounted with one bolt on the bottom, number 2 is not used.

My original horn was mounted in a single hole, I now have a pair of windtones mounted either side of the radiator

Thanks Stevey,a picture saves a thousand words but it does pose other questions,is my horn correct for a '52 4 door,is yours correct for a 54 series 11 as from the photos they do differ in body shape & your single fixing certainly suits the single fixing in the tie plate. Tvdwerf has the same shape horn as myself & his is a '51 lowlight but then again he says his is not the original one to the car .Perhaps Mike can throw some light on it for me.

The actual horn looks the same, just the mounting being different. Mine is correct for a 1954, its listed in the parts manual with chassis numbers. I think yours is right, but ive never seen that fixing before.

Mine is not a lowlight, but I have a Lowlight horn somewhere between my spare parts.
Also a spare horn like the one from stevey, and the same is mounted in the car.

Some guys told me, the old lowlight horn should be the one from the MM, but when i see the same horn as mine, mounted on more cars from that age, I am not sure anymore.[frame]Image[/frame]

Both of my horns have the same bracket, when the car is finished ( in 1, 2 or 10 years ;) ) it is possible to sell one.
But it is very easy to make or buy a copy I think.
At my company we have a waterjet cutting machine, so with a dxf, we cut this from 5 mm sheet metal.
