Better off with a stronger back axle - and probably cheaper too. A Minor axle with good shafts should last for a bit if not too hard on it, but it will let you down at the most inconvenient time.

Birmingham moggy centre do uprated half shafts, but plastic orange is correct save your money and get a better axle..

as for a prop shaft, do a search through yellow pages for a local company as the postage is going to be high due to the weight

you will need to reposition the axle mounts to mount on to the minor springs. then you will need a propshaft as you have already identified, just tell the person making it what flanges you have and it should not be a problem.

A mark 1 Capri axle fitted straight onto the Minor springs - needed new U bolts though, then just changed rear prop flange to capri - you'll have to get correct length though.
For handbrake I just used the capri one and shortened the cable as Minor handbrake lever didn't have enough travel.

Yes, that's been used before - although I think it's slightly narrower than a Minor axle. Check out http://mog.myfreeforum.org/forum48.php as folk here have done it.

A little fabrication will get it sitting on your springs , a few measurment and send the ford prop to dyno prop or some other reputable company , unless by some miricaleits the right length, then its just dampers and brakes ,
