Steering Rack
Hi - have bought a recon steering rack for 1098 but not sure if it comes packed with oil/grease? Supplier not sure, thanks, John

It will have some lubricant in there - but grease it up after you have it in place - working the steering back and forth as you do so. I use Moly grease - others will be along soon to tell you that the 60 year old Manual tells you to use EP90 oil........

Few of us would suggest that everything in the manual is gospel however the reasons that changes were made for later cars don't necessarily mean improvements for us.
Less time and fewer tools needed to do a service are important factors for main dealers, no so much for us.
