Wolseley brakes

Primrose failed her Mot due to her front brakes.
After whipping off the drum, I discovered the wolseley 1500 brake cylinders had become rather sticky and where not really doing much, as well as leaking.
I considered renewing the seals, but as I have already done this once, I am of the opinion that the bores are shot and a splodge of new rubber won't do much.
However, others opinions would be good.
Should I rebuild the cylinders with new seals and give them a good clean out or should I bite the bullet and get a new set for the offending wheel?

An expert will be along shortly, but I have a feeling that Minor cylinders will fit with a small bit of fettling.

If the bores will polish up - new seals will be fine - be sure to put a bit of red rubber grease in there with the seals. W1500 cylinders are v expensive, so yes - Minor front cylinders are easily fitted and reduce the pedal pressure slightly.

A slight modification to the slot in the back plate is required and you will need to change the connecting pipes due to the different angle of the threads into the cylinders

My connecting pipes fitted fine........just a wee tweak....

when we say "slight modification"
what does that mean? just enlarging the hole a bit? elongating something?

Yes - a bit of filing and one new hole drilled - the other one remains so no problem finding where to drill the new one. I think I also welded up slightly - but honestly doubt if that is necessary. Just compare a Minor cylinder to a W cylinder. The operating 'head' of the piston remains in exactly the same position - so the shoes work exactly as before
