won the engine building bench lol

Re: 1098cc proper rebuiilt engine
Shop around for pistons once you know which size you need. Take care to make sure you don't get fobbed off with Low Comp pistons....... Don't worry about Hepolite pistons....... Someone asked about upgrades - and yes - I fully endorse fitting a 940 head and/or an MG Metro camshaft (or a 266 which is roughly the same...).

Re: 1098cc proper rebuiilt engine
Hmmm - don't like the extra ring below the gudgeon pin - and they say for Mini.......that may mean they are 'press fit' gudgeon pins, if so - you would need a set of the matching Mini type con rods to go with them, and a brave heart to fit them !! However - if they are ''circlip' type gudgeon pins they will be ok with your conrods - assuming of course you haven't got the very early 'pinch fit' conrods (with a bolt in the small end) in that engine !! So - ask the seller before bidding.

Re: 1098cc proper rebuiilt engine
I fitted a set of KING pistons to a minor years ago and they didnt last five mins!bmcecosse wrote:Why does the make matter???
Re: 1098cc proper rebuiilt engine
Never heard of 'King' - but obviously there was something wrong with either the installation of the pistons or the management of the engine....... I've not heard any adverse comments about the pistons sold by Bully, whatever make they are. I gather Hep pistons are available from USA - at a huge price.........
