oil pressure

Post by hdavy »

Since I refitted cyl head with new valves etc my oil pressure gauge reads off the clock. What could make it so high?
The bottom of the engine including the oil pump has not been disturbed.

What type of gauge is it, does it read 0 with the engine off?

Did you changed the oil and filter?
I know some filters can change the oil pressure also, but a blocked oil pipe because of a wrong gasket, can also do strange things.

What mike asks, what type of engine?
MM '51 LHD sidevalve
