I am restoring a 1952 series mm 4 door saloon & the door cards have deformed over time. The upholstry on them is in excellent condition, how best to flatten the cards?
Is it better to replace with hardboard?
What about the securing brkts & little rectangular strips that they fit into, are these still available?
Any advice welcome

Re: Door Cards
A friend has just made door cards for his Spitfire, I will find out what materials he used. The four door has extra trim on the cards. What colour is the car?
Could you please PM me the car details for the register.

Re: Door Cards
I pretty sure you wont be able to get those older type of door trim clips any more, the factory changed them to a different clip with a hole drilled through the hardboard panel to slot it into as this is a bit stronger and easier to make.
Heres a link to the newer type clip

Yes, ESM are still able to supply the older type clip. I bought some very recently and replaced several on my door cards. The clip is a plain metal type with a prong either way which fits into a metal receiver, which I glued back into the card with quick-set araldite.
I will take a photo and see if I can work out how to upload it into a note, haven't done this before on this forum!

Re: Door Cards
So long as your pictures are no larger than 640 x 480 you should be ok. Details of how to post pictures (if you get stuck) are under a sticky in Cars for Sale
