Re: forced induction carbs
Are you blowing through or sucking through the carb? The Metro turbo 'blew through' the carb, hence the need for a different carb and seals, high pressure fuel pump, tank return fuel line etc. I suppose if you are planning to blow though, much of the Metro turbo setup would make a good starting point?
Also the Metro turbo had a special crankcase ventilation system that switched the ventilation 'suck' source from the inlet manifold when it was in 'vacuum' mode, to a venturi in the inlet trunking in turbo 'pressure' mode. Again, could be a good base?

Re: forced induction carbs
Its half set up to blow with an intercooler ,brackets pulleys filters n most the pipe work sorted , just ignition advance , Decomp plate , carb n fuel pump , But i wondered if my carb can be adapted

Re: forced induction carbs
No -an ordinary pump will be fine - you are just sucking through it as normal and the standard pump should be capable of supplying 100 bhp for short bursts - which is all a standard engine will take anyway!

Re: forced induction carbs
I wonna blow it with an intercooler
got all the gear just not all the knowledge
just picked up a single port fuel injetion system off a mini complete with an engine , i cant use all of .
anyone need a mini lump and auto gearbox.

Re: forced induction carbs
The eaton blower is usually used with a suck through carb - not sure if it NEEDS the fuel as lubricant. If you blow through - then yes you need a turbo carb. An intercooler is not quite as essential with a blower - since there is less heat transfer from the exhaust - but of course there IS compression heat. It's not normal to use an intercooler with a blower - but of course you can if you wish..... The Mini SPi injector is a horrible thing....good luck with that!!

Re: forced induction carbs
I bought the eaton off some mad professor who had mounted it over the top of his 1098, madmax style, blowing into an intercooler and then into a sealed airbox connected to to su's .
But i dont have the airbox or carbs .So i thought turbo carb then i thought injection thus not needing an Hp fuel pump
Ive mounted the IC and put a fan on it to cool the charge and reduce its volume even further.
But to be honest I'm scared blowing the whole thing to bitz

Re: forced induction carbs
Any installations I have seen have been suck through and no intercooler. He certainly was 'mad' to use twin carbs !! You can vary the force of the blower by using different size drive pulleys.

Re: forced induction carbs
Yeah i figured that, though it has a single port injector on the inlet of the charger locked 3/4 open possibly used to restrict the amount of boost .I only want a low boost just to give me a bit more get up n go, n surprize a few boy racers with there silly exhausts n spoilers.

Re: forced induction carbs
So - set it up suck through, forget the intercooler and size the pulleys to give a gentle boost. It will be fine !

Re: forced induction carbs
You could - but it will need to 'blow back' into the carb inlet since it will contain fuel........ But really no need - a blower is not like a turbo - the 'blow' is directly related to engine speed -and you are now saying you just want some gentle boost for a bit of extra power....
