They seemed to do a decent job on the Caddy tonight, though, and was it me or is there less BS now?

All needs to be taken with a fistful of salt really.

I'm not sure if it's getting less daft now, or if we're just getting used to it!

Did you notice that the mustang screen that smashed wasn't the one they had trial fitted? And then when they got around to finally fitting the screen, it was the same one they trial fitted and supposedly smashed!

It was good to see on this caddy one that they actually used paint stripper and sandpaper for once. Not angle grinders!

The one thing that got me tonight (caddy) though was the engine smoking. Bernie went mad that the engine (that hadn't run for years, and had been sat in a barn) wasn't running perfectly straight away. Surely they should expect it to be terrible, and if it's good it's a bonus. Not the other way around.

They also expected to pay $8k on restoration, before buying a car at all. How exactly do you budget before knowing what you've got to fix?!

Tbh, if that bald old coot came out of his office shouting and screaming at me doing all the work, I'd tell him where to shove his spark plugs.

It's all a load of crap. An idiot of a cockanee in my opinion. It's about time these car programs got into the real world and showed us something interesting.
I suppose it suits my wife whose first question regarding anything bought is "what colur is it"

Bit childish really.

Bald bloke buys a 911 for a few grand, when it's being inspected the 'expert' body restorer spots a manky scuttle and says it looks like a 'cut + shut'!

Give me strength!

Worse than the Eddie Stobart show...
Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!

How can they make 6k? there where about 4 or mechanics and a sprayer. An equiped workshop and tehy ran round for hours and hours in fuel guzzlers looking for parts.

Also why are they never routing through boxes of junk looking for a set of engine mounting towers only to find 2 of one side and 1 of the other, and the 1 is rotting away?
Cos that's what Ive been doing this afternoon.

Watched the first one only.
The meeting of all the lovies prior to the programme must have been equally naff.

"So Justin darling, we need a hybrid hairy bikers come Angry Italian chefs with something manly to make fix or break, as the target audience are red bloods with red necks and not a lot between the ears"

"Got it Cameron sweetheart! a brit, a yank for an international flavour, and old cars that come in battered, against all the odds our intrepid heroes take a lump of scrap and rebuild it into a thing of beauty, squabbling along the way of course, but ultimately just making the deadline, just on budget ,just like grand designs on wheels and with lots of cuddles and making up afterwards"

"Justin you sweety, what a wonderfully tired, used, but ultimately cash rich project, now, lets get marketing on to all those cash rich insurance companies and get some advertising dosh in"

"All this brainstorming has fair tired me out, lets do lunch"
