Could anyone tell me what the compression ratio is on a 1275 morris ital please

I have a Haynes 'Ital 1.3' manual to hand. The low compression engine is 8.0:1 and the High comp. is 9.4:1

picked up a eaton m45 off ebay for a song that was fitted to a 1098 so now i'm trying to adapt it to my carb

That will be interesting - but make sure the engine is tip-top before you do!

1975 Marina 1275 engine was indeed just 8.8: 1. Maybe it was uprated slightly or the Ital. Ohhh yes! This exciting article tells all http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au/ca ... s_ital.htm So 9.4 it is then - too high for a compressor I fear.

Cant be to much wrong it don't smoke , knock or rattle and pulls 80 with an external sun visor fitted , n would definatly go faster if i took the damn thing off , but style is often a compromise to efficiency.
