How to get my late farthers van featured in minor matters.

Post by PaulTubby »

Hi all, i was wondering how id go about getting my farthers van featured in Minor matters, my farther (with some help of me) rebuilt his van EEC 921E over 1998 to 1999... in 2000 he took it to the mmoc national rally harewood house in leeds and won best lcv. My mother started suffering with ill heath and the van never really got used and showed again. My farther recently passed away and ive gone through recomisioning the van and making it special again and looking forward to hopefully doing my farther proud at some shows next year.... and ive now also got the job off keeping it in the condition its in and also a saloon he used daily which ive started to detail. i think it would be a good tribute to do a good article on the van in the club magazine as he was a loyal mmoc club member and enthusiast for over 15 years.....

Here some photos of the van now.....

Details of how to submit an article to Minor Matters are in the magazine - page 3 of the current issue.

You are credit to your fathers memory, keep up the good the work hope to see the van around at some rallies next year. you should bring it the Centenary event, your father would be proud of that.

The current issue came out at the start of September. The details about magazine articles are usually always on the same page in the magazine - under the letter from the editor. Articles should be submitted in 'Word' if possible, with photos as separate jpeg files. Send to : minormatters (at) mmoc.org.uk

Big mistake to use stainless bolts/nuts - in the presence of any moisture they form a corrosive cell with the mild steel - and the mild steel around the bolt etc dissolves!! Far better to use plated steel bolts.

Although something to bear in mind is that the notice in Minor Matters regarding contributions to the magazine states "Articles submitted for publication in Minor matters should be of original, unpublished work, and are submitted on the basis that they will not be published in any other journal. Please contact the editor first if in any doubt".

It's the magazine editor (Nicola) who you need to discuss the article with, and she isn't based at the club office. Contact her via the e-mail address I posted earlier - she usually responds quite quickly.
