SRV290K 1970 Morris Traveller - Southampton Where are You ?

Post by brianshurst »

Good Afternoon

Thanks for viewing my post. I restored the above car between the years of 1994 - 2001 and have full photographic documentary of it, including photos of its use at two weddings. I sold the car :( after my daughter was born to someone who was going to use it everyday - she phoned me a year later to say it was not working and did I want to buy it back - alas I said no.

My children are bigger now and I would love to pass the restoration onto the current owner

It did not enter into my mind until a couple of weekends ago I saw it travelling on the A326 from ( I suspect the National Motor Museum @ Beaulieu) toward the M27. Proving to me it is still on the road

As such I would love to track down the owner - pass on the photo album and see "woodie" again - not an original name I am afraid !

I hope they are a member and someone can help me - I was when I owned him

I look forward to your help.

Hi there thanks for the replies.

It was originally snowberry white but I resprayed it in old English White. Dark Blue Interior with Light Blue Trimmed Carpets.

It was a very late one.

Hi Brian
I am now the proud owner of SRV 290K. I have had it about a year and sadly had to do a lot of work on it with still tons more to do.
having said that I also want to keep it on the Road,
When you saw me, yes we were on the way to Beaulieu, my son driving on L plates!!!!!
I brought in from a lady in Leicester, but discovered it probably originated in Emsworth, later spending some of its life in Hedge End, & thats where it is now, so its kind of come home.
If you live any where near I would love to meet up with you.

cheers

Hi Bill

How excited I am !

Where do you live, I bought woodie from a family in Emsworth where it was being used as a shed pretty much, all the floors were completely gone and the doors were 50% of the way up rusted, both rear doors were gone as was the front panel.

If you can give me your email address that would be great , I am unable to email you directly from this message

Regards

Brian

SRV 290K is out and about. You can't miss it as there can't be many OEW travellers sporting "L" plates. If you see us give us a wave. :D

cheers
