Andy
Instrument panel (speedo) bulbs are 12V 2.2W MES/E10 type 987. (MES means Minature Edison Screw). They look like old torch bulbs.
Halfords sell them at great expense if you really must ...

Re: Bulbs
Two for illumination, four (since yours is '70) for idiot lights. Each bulb is in a clearly-visible socket mounted in the back of the speedo. So six in total -- though it's nice to have a couple spares of everything, so if you find a pack of ten, get it.
The way to a man's heart may be making food, but the way to my heart is buying me car parts!

I'm afraid that this one is more a case for St Jude than for the more frequent contributors to this messageboard. When the poster is so determined not to do anything he is advised to do, or to do any thinking or investigating for himself, I don't think he'll be satisfied until someone goes round to his house, wipes anything that needs wiping, and mends his car for him.
Messageboards work fine usually, but in this case, as with the OP's headlamp query, they do need a certain degree of cooperation from the OP.

Sorry its the orange and red ones. They are lit when I turn the ignition key and go off when the engine starts.bmcecosse wrote:The red and blue are lit - WHEN???? Are the bulbs clipped in the wrong holes in the speedo????????????
Re: Bulbs
Ah right - that's spot on correct then....... Have you checked the join where the red wire and the two red/white wires appear to be joined together - are they? Or are they just bundled up together but not joined??

Re: Bulbs
I did check but I'm going to buy a new connector as the old one is pretty worn.bmcecosse wrote:Ah right - that's spot on correct then.......
