Small tear in headlining
Any tips on fixing a small tear, about one inch, in the headlining?
Within hours of passing the mot someone (not me, but mentioned in my user name) has ripped it.
Thanks,
Tom

What year and type is the car as the headling materials varied over the years. Its easy to make the damage worse by attempting to fix it.

Re: Small tear in headlining
Can be done. You will need a material glue (I think Evostik do one - for sticking craft materials etc - not school PVC glue)
Eyebrow tweezers and a cocktail stick plus a small piece of white/cream polycotton (ex-bedsheet) You will need someone to hand you things.....(person responsible for the tear?
)
Cut a square of material and carefully using the tweezers insert this through the hole and hold it in place. Small amount of glue on cocktail stick. Glue square through hoe l v. carefully whilst holding square with other hand (fiddly) Carefully push headlining up to contact with material square.
Only other alternative is to take headlining down and glue the square on, but taking down/replacing the headlining is quite a job!
Hope this helps!
