interior light wiring

Post by NOEL »

I fitted a new door switch on my minor which works fine, the old one would work now and again dispite cleaning, anyway, thought I would make both switches match but unfortunately the wire on the nearside dissapeared into the hole before I could stop it, after I removed the old swich and pulled the connector off, is there an easy way to relocate this?-thanks in advance

Remove the glove box liner. The wire disappears down a gap below the windscreen pillar. Use of some stiff wire pushed through the hole and back up towards the glove box can be used to guide the required wire back to the hole. Note that whenever the end of your wanted wire touches and earths to the body, the light will come on; so it's a good idea to turn the light off until yo have finished the job in order to avoid a flat battery.
