Any history on my car?

Post by Tim Harrison »

Hi all,
I'm hoping somebody might be able to give me some history on my car, as I know nothing of it beyond the previous owner who had it for a year or so before me.
The reg number is 355 HKN, it was white but has since been painted electric blue and I bought it from Bournemouth, so I'm guessing it's been a Dorset car for most of its life.
It's a 1959 2 door, it has the orignal back seat but the front passenger has been replaced at some point, and it looks as though the drivers seat has too but I can't be sure.
Thanks for looking, Tim.

Our friends at DVLA can give you a list of all previous owners for a small fee. I think it's a V888 form, can't remember to hand a search of the forum should bring up the answer.

I did it - fee was £5 about 3 years ago - form number may have changed. You can get the form from a PO or online.

Interesting to find where you cars been.

The only other one is the £60 fee Gaydon Heritage museum charge for the certificate thingy. Although you can view the original shipping documents for free if you book.

The Heritage Certificate from Gaydon is ok for date of build and original specification plus (sometimes) where the car was despatched to (garage/location) It won't tell you how many owners, and where they lived and how long each owner had the car.

For this info the DVLA form is the best answer.
