Use the search function for viewtopic.php?t=20065 removal and refitting.
The bulk of it is straight forward but getting the front wooden former, above the windscreen, out " totally undamaged " takes care. I've not heard it being described as easy.Read all the topics on headling removal on the forum before having a go.
As with all of these type of jobs, a second person to assist makes life a bit easier.
Good luck with it

pete,if you don't NEED to remove it leave well alone,it can be a B........d to get back in properly,I'll be coming over your way today got a dental appointment 12 noon ,top end of yarm so just a couple of minutes from you. I have a way of getting it out easily I'll show you how. Cheers ken.
Too far away terry, sorry,if you had been in the north east would gladly assist, but the way I found ........... The dificult bit is releasing the two clips that hold the ply former under the front section. Many use a bent spoon ,but I found that still a bit hit and miss.
Release the liner at the rear and the sides, slide a thin BLUNT.tool between the metal frame and the ply section .slide it along until you feel the metal clip.then drill a very small hole in the frame directly under the clip. You will feel the drill bit spring in and out on this clip.
Then push a bradawl or suitable nail into the hole and the clip can be pushed up to release from the frame edge the ply and liner can then be pulled forwards one side at a time, the rest is easy. The two small holes are not noticable but I simply screwed two small self tappers into mine.
Putting the liner back in to a satisfactory finish is another matter altogether.Mine was a bit baggy but warming it up with a hair drier made it better, after it had cooled and shrunk a bit, still not 100% but acceptable.
Don't mix up the metal hoops they need to go back into the exact same place they look the same but each is slightly different.(Don't ask how I know this) GOOD LUCK
