Re: wont to buy or make
I'm you can find an upholsterer who can do a good job of them.
The only difference between car seats and those that go in houses is the way the material is attached to the seat.

You can buy covers from Newton Commercial. You will probably need new padding and straps

And a healthy bank balance!
There are plenty of people in Sri Lanka with sewing machines and they know how to use them.
Just find one who is used to dealing with heavier duty fabric than suiting.

I'm sure you will be able to get a complete set of leather covers made for a fraction of the cost in the UK!

i purchased a sewing machine and made my own, using the old ones as templates, I had never used a sewing machine before by the way.

Re: wont to buy or make (seat covers)
as requested here are some photos.
on both occasions I explained what i wanted the fabric for to the shop keeper, who pointed me to the suitable fabric, for my first attempt i did not use vinyl as I had read some horror stories about it but my second covers are made from vinyl and I found it fine.
My sewing machine is a 1930's singer so nothing fancy..[frame]
