1952 Convert - 80s Custom Car – The Leopard
Hi my name is Colin, I’m an ex Brit living in Brisbane, Australia.
Purchased this 1952 convert, sight unseen of EvilBay, yes I know: madder than a bucket of snakes.
I already have a 1953 Chevy to enjoy the weekends in, plus I needed a project.
Car had been through a multitude of engines, turbo, blown, came to me without an engine.
She has had some interesting paint schemes over the years!!!!
Have started stripping it down, I know you guys are suffering with the rules over there, but look at the photos… Should everybody be allowed to modify cars???!!
Washers to hold the steering column?
Big holes for the rear shocks?
Most of the front inner arches cut away?
Plans are a resto look with a few modern mods.[frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame]

Hey Spartacus, are you suggesting that the paint scheme is unsafe!!!!!
Or some of those ‘modifications’ ????[frame]Image[/frame]
Check out the master cylinder: makes topping up easy, but hard to know when its full..

Thanks mach2, I love collecting that old 50s & 60s stuff.
I work away a lot, so make the most of time at home.
Do you think I should keep the paint????
Was thinking of going the same colour as my Chevy.[frame]Image[/frame]

I'm a hot rodded at heart, (please don't throw off the MMOC site) but I do like all sorts of cars.[frame]Image[/frame]
Ed Roth stuff - He built a lot of 60's show cars and created Rat Fink, the oposite of Mickey Mouse.
[frame]Image[/frame]
Barris Kustoms - Built the Batmobile and other movie/Show cars[frame]Image[/frame]
Dean Moon - Drag racer, Moon discs, Moon Tanks etc

Thanks ASL642, it's actualy a Holden colour, which is GM, so keeps it in the family.
Think it would suit the 'Leopard' with a nice white soft top.
Pump is not hooked up, just for looks.

In this country the pump would have to be sunk into concrete otherwise it would fall foul to the scrapmen that patrol the streets looking for anything that isn't nailed down! :o

Not that bad over here!!
Still has all the pumps etc inside, But there are some large bolts holding it down.[frame]Image[/frame]
What the hell are people thinking when they cut this much out of the body!!!!
I’m surprised that the front didn’t just droop down!!!
Do they sell this inner panel?
