Hi,
I recently bought my first Morris!
The previous owner has fitted a rev counter but it really spoils the look of the dash. It's plastic, has a blue backlight and a shift light.
It's about 3.5' in diameter.
I wondere if anyone had any ideas for replacing it. This is obviously an electric one(electric ignition fitted, neg earth). I was considering switching it for an MGB one. Not sure which model to go for...
Any help would be much appreciated!
Best
Jack

Re: Tacho?
Are you sure on the diameter?
i assume that 3.5' is 3.5 inches.. that equates to 8.89 cm and seems very large for an after market gauge and the size will obviously have a big bearing on the response

Re: Tacho?
I have a Smiths 1433/00 tachometer in Mog, and it seems to work nicely and looks great. I believe it is out of an MGB, so you're on the right track. It's not really important which one you get (so long as it's for four cylinders and is the correct earth for your setup), as they all read the impulses similarly, I believe.
The way to a man's heart may be making food, but the way to my heart is buying me car parts!

A photo would be useful. Tachos come in 52, 80 and 100mm sizes. A Minor speedo is 140mm
