Traveller height at rear

Post by fillpoke »

Could anyone please tell me the height from the ground of their traveller at the rear. I'm fitting new wood to mine (nightmare!) and the gap from the floor to the wooden cross piece between the bottom of the rear pillars is 430mm. I'm not sure if this is right and don't want to start drilling holes etc until I know for sure.
Thanks for any help

If the car isnt full loaded - the 'height from the floor' is not relevant. Ideally there should be ~ 2" clear air between the bump stops and the pads on the 'chassis' rails.........again for a normally loaded car.

Thanks for that but I need to know the correct height for the bottom of the wooden crosspiece to the floor in order to check that I have the wood correctly pulled down at the back

Floor of the garage? Or 'floor' of the car? Sorry - I don't understand the problem.........

Sorry about the ambiguity in the question. I meant the garage floor. However I've realised that this height will vary depending on the load in the car. Therefore not a good way to check anything!
