Hi
Theres an old metro van down my dads farm its in a prety sorry state but its been stored inside as he used to pinch small parts off of it for his van, is there anything worth taking off of it before it goes to the scrapper that could be usful for my moggy?
Thanks

Re: Metro parts good for Minor
Probably not a lot that can be transferred to a Minor, but depending on engine size and condition might be worth saving that (note it is fwd and cannot be used in a Minor). Carb and manifold you could no doubt use.
The 4 Hydragas suspension displacers are definitely worth saving as these are hard to get now and will help keep other BL cars going.
Any van specific stuff like trim might command a premium to other Metro van owners.

How many ccs is the engine?
Head might be useful, also alternator and brackets.

Could be worthwhile pinching the spin-on oil filter setup.

Horn/battery - and if the engine is A series - the head/carb/manifold/alternator - perhaps other parts if a 1275?? Indeed - a 1275 engine will sell well to a Mini owner.

have the seats, you'll need a base from the MMC, but they are a dream compared to the normal Morris ones

Compared to worn Morris ones yes! But reconditioned standard Minor seats- new foam and webbings are very comfy indeed. Just that most folks unfairly judge the seat design on the neglected worn examples they have.AntB wrote:have the seats, you'll need a base from the MMC, but they are a dream compared to the normal Morris ones
