Useless Spare parts , why am I keeping them

Why do I have a collection of brake wheel cylinders that SHOULD be easily cleaned , reamed and new seals fitted but arent ( though the rears are a pain and cost £45 to get overhauled professionally more cost than NOS if I can find it ). small pile of clutches - how do I know if they are worn beyond re-use , small pile of M35G starter bodies and roters. Oddments of windscreen wipers , headlamps ( only with one beam working ) , front and rear brake drums that are probably not worth re-skimming and striping of corrosion - I would like to repaint the outsides in smooth red paint as it looks nicer but if the innards are worn to excess there is no point .

Other items , broken plates to 1098 front indicators painted silver that loses the earth connection and the holes for screwing to front wings. Quite a few stainless ( so how come corners are rusty ) and painted door frames that I cannot remember if they are from two door or four doors.

Not that I can get to the spares , they are hidden behind books , papers , bicycles , motor bikes internals of a camper van and useful engine and gearbox ( funny the travellor seems to be missing these )

quite simply, they are bound to come in useful one day.... for the same reason I've collected fragments of timber over the years from various DIY projects...

They will only become useful after you have thrown them out!!

Yes , I forgot the timber off cuts , lengths of curtain poles , curtain clips that dont fit my current hangers , curtains that dont fit my current windows , I dont think I mentioned the Hillman Minx , Vauxhall Viva and Fiat items ( all cars that the spares outnumber the total vehicles on the road )
