I have one piston that has two pieces of ring corroded into position. Any tips on what I can do to remove these? The piston set are otherwise very good, and I have new rings ready to go in.
So far I have tried soaking in paraffin for 36 hours, and liberally coating with penetrating oil. Would it be safe to use the Coke trick on them or will this do more damage?
Thanks

Coke (or better - phosphoric acid ie rust killer) should get it moving.

A slim punch and a hammer, but be careful holding the piston, you don't want to squeeze it out of shape. A stout rod through the wrist pin would would help to hold it from turning.
